Warne Marketing sponsors 4th Annual Business and Professional Women's Breakfast

Founder of Fernwood Women's Health Club, Diana Williams, has been announced as the keynote speaker at the 4th Annual Business and Professional Women's Breakfast.

The event, scheduled for 26th February 2008, will be held at the Geelong Football Club's Fred Flanagan Room, promises to be a sellout.

Diana Williams established the first Fernwood Women's Health Club in Bendigo, Victoria in 1989, when she recognised a need for women to have their own special space – a sanctuary, to enjoy regular exercise to reach their health, fitness and wellbeing goals.

Today, with national reach, Fernwood is the largest organisation of its kind in Australia with, over 70 clubs Nationally, over 80,000 members and 3000 employees and an annual turnover in excess of $100 million.

Through the success of Fernwood Women's Health Clubs, founder Diana Williams, became the national 2005 Telstra Businesswoman of the Year after previously winning both the Westpac Business Owner Award and the overall state award for Victoria. Diana was also inducted into the Australian Women's Hall of Fame in 1999, then went on to publish her first book in 2000, titled 'The Women's Club.

She has sat on numerous boards and councils including the Federal Government Sport and Leisure industry consultative group, the Latrobe University Regional Advisory Board, and is currently the Vice President of the Victorian Executive of the Franchise Council of Australia, and awarded 2006 Woman in Franchising.

In 2001, Diana was honoured by the Department of Industry, Science and Resources for her contribution to Australian business and commerce. As a strong advocate for women in business, Diana regularly speaks at various forums, sharing her success story with other women, which she hopes may inspire them to realise their potential and follow their dream.

As a dedicated promoter that fit, healthy women shine, Diana attends the club on a regular basis, firmly believing that staying fit and healthy is paramount for every busy person to maintain the energy needed to perform well and lead a balanced life.

High-profile identity to visit Geelong, has appeared on A Current Affair, Sunrise and in Woman’s Weekly and Money magazine.

Geelong’s Business and Professional Women's group has announced plans for an event focusing on women operating successful home-based businesses, while raising a family.

The event, scheduled for November 13, will feature guest speaker and successful businesswomen Sonia Williams, author of Show Mummy the Money and Raising A Business.

A mother of two who has worked as a qualified Certified Practising Accountant, Ms Williams has worked in all areas of business: public, private sectors, manufacturing and government and has worked for small and large prestigious accounting firms.

Ms Williams has attracted extensive media attention, including A Current Affair, Sunrise, Woman’s Weekly and Money magazine.

"Show Mummy the Money originally started out as a book, and has proven so popular that it has been extended into an online portal," says Ms Williams.

"It was my intention to empower mums with relevant and applicable information so they could consider an alternative viable option in order to better achieve a balance between work and family life."

Raising a Business is the much-anticipated follow up publication to Show Mummy the Money. The book is designed to teach women how they can successfully prepare their business for, and manage, growth. It outlines the key areas that business owners need to look at to create a profitable, sustainable and successful business.

The event will be held at Barwon Edge and commences at 6pm for 6.30pm. Tickets cost $25 per head for members and $30 for guests. For further information email cbickerd@bigpond.net.au.
